Course objective |
- Familiarizing students with quantitative methods of data analysis and develope the skills to use them in solving problems of engineering and management

Learning outcomes |
- The student understands the basic concepts of data analysis and is able to indicate their application to the analysis of selected issues in the area of technical and management problems.
- The student is able to use known methods of data analysis to solve engineering and management problems.
- The student can use computer software to solve engineering and management problems applying appropriate methods of data analysis.

LECTURE
1. Fundamental consepts of statistics
2. Organisation of statistical research
3. Measures of structure description of the population
4. Probability and random variable.
5. Selected distributions of a discrete and continous random variable
6. The concept of statistical inference
7. Estimation of the unknown parameters in the population.
8. Verification of hypotheses, statistical hypothesis, nonparametric and parametric tests
9. Correlation analysis
10. Analysis of time series dynamics
TUTORIALS
Solving statistical problems according to the lecture content.
LABORATORY
Solving problems according to the lecture content using MSExcel sheet. Projects with own experiments. |
